About This Quote

In the classic film "It's a Wonderful Life," Jimmy Stewart plays George Bailey, a man who has been knocked down by life and is being pulled further down. In the middle of a snowstorm he encounters his guardian angel, Clarence, who tells him that if he doesn't have a guardian angel, he could fall into a never-ending pit of despair. George knows how terrible his life would be without a guardian angel, so he tries to get one. He tries to get one from the mayor, who wouldn't listen to him.

He tries to get one from Mr. Gower, who's too busy. Eventually he gets one from Mr.

Potter, but it turns out that Mr. Potter is such an obnoxious jerk that the angels decide to abandon him and leave George in despair. This scene is one of my favourite scenes in cinema history because it shows how important having a guardian angel is in our lives when we're in trouble and we really need help.

This scene in particular is very moving for me because in my own life I've experienced things in which no one was there for me to help me when I really needed it. Sadly, I was left in my own hell and eventually lost everything I had because no one was there for me when I needed them most.
